We have an immediate opening for a current or future superstar automation integration engineer.The ideal candidate would reside within commuting distance to either our Brantford or Burlington office. However, based on our experience during the pandemic, we are allowing some employees to work fully or partially remotely (within Ontario).YOU’LL WANT TO MEET US, IF YOU:– Enjoy learning new technologies and applying them to the task at hand– Take pride in the quality of your code– Love to deliver great results for clients– Are high energy, and love working with people– Value being trusted to take on responsibility– Like being part of a creative process– Enjoy traveling and experiencing different parts of the world– Love to see a job through from start to finish– Have a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines– Like working with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens automation softwaresWE WANT TO MEET YOU, IF YOU:– Want to work for a team-oriented company– Are looking for a company that stakes its reputation on the quality of its work– Are looking for a big-city salary while enjoying a lower cost of living– Want to avoid the stop-and-go traffic to and from Toronto– Want to grow along with a fast-growing company– Want to work for a place where the owners are programmers too– Want a career where you are appreciated by both your employer AND clients– Want to be part of a team that prides itself on being friendly, professional and respectfulJOB RESPONSIBILITIES– Perform PLC programming tasks including development, integration testing, commissioning and support, and associated documentation– Develop new functionality to fulfill client initiatives, including PLC and HMI development and integration with external systems– Communicate with key project stakeholders within both the company and the customer– Translate business requirements into detailed design specifications to address both functional and non-functional requirements for major feature components– Perform system analysis, code modifications, and functional testing to troubleshoot application features and communication issues (OPC UA)– Serve as an expert resource within the company on the functionality of assigned modulesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS– University/College education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines– 1-2 years Experience in Allen Bradley and/or Siemens preferred– 1-2 years Experience with PLC communication protocols and/or PLC networking preferred– Ability to write high-quality PLC code (ladder logic, structured text, AOIs, UDTs) and communicate that information through an excellent HMI design.– Strong written & oral communication skills– Excellent problem solving and team building skills– Adaptable, able to learn new skills/technologies– Ability to work globallyBONUS QUALIFICATIONS– Experience with SQL (Microsoft SQL Server preferred), OPC UA, Cloud Based software integration is an asset– Strong skills in Windows based operating systems– Project management experience– Experience with Microsoft Office product suitePLEASE NOTE we are looking for people eligible to obtain a Visa to travel to all over the world. You must be a citizen of Canada, US or Mexico, and you must hold an appropriate degree. Some of our clients are located globally and occasional onsite travel is required to commission an application.
