Job Description

Personal Support Services Educator and Nursing EducatorWho is a Personal Support Services EducatorAs an integral part of the ParaMed team, the Nursing/Personal Support Educator is accountable for the training and education of Personal Support Services within the district. This Educator will deliver training, education, and in- service support for the district education plan to ensure the delivery of a high level of safe, quality care and service.What you’ll do

  • Deliver training for new Home Support Workers/Personal Support Workers/Nurses
  • Provide clinical orientation to PSS/Nurses and assesses the skill competencies
  • Arrange mandatory or position specific education as outlined in the training program
  • Facilitate the district educational plan in collaboration with the Care and Service Manager
  • Champion ParaMed’s policies and procedures through education and training of staff
  • Integrate patient-centered practice expectations in all education and training events
What you’ll bring to the table
  • Registration/licensing in good standing as a Registered Nurse with provincial regulatory college
  • Preferably has a minimum of 2 experience as a practicing Registered Nurse in a community setting
  • Superior oral and written communication skills to effectively deliver training and education
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills including experience in Word, Powerpoint and Excel are required
  • Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS)
