Job Description

We are currently seeking a Dispatch Load Planner to work at our Burlington, office.In this role, the Load Planner will be responsible for the planning and assignment of trucks to load for delivery and pick-up for various customers in Ontario, ensure there is enough freight to keep all trucks moving, and dispatch trucks. This will be accomplished by working collaboratively with Dispatchers, Drivers, Driver Planning, and the Management Team. This position requires a strong understanding of planning, problem-solving, and efficient use of resources.Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday - Day Shift, after hours, and weekends on call.
Main Duties:
  • Strategically plan and assign trucks to load for delivery and pick-up for various customers.
  • Troubleshoot changes to plans and reorganize to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Supervise and create shifts for dispatchers.
  • Find additional loads and assign them to trucks when necessary.
  • Closely monitor the on-time movement of all customer loads.
  • Make pick-up/delivery appointments as needed.
  • Communicate plans clearly with Dispatch and Drivers.
  • Dispatch trucks.
Education and Skills Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience planning customer loads & freight movements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new programs.
  • Knowledge of HOS requirements and legislation is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Analytical skills and detail-oriented.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
