Job Description

Job DescriptionHow You #39;ll Make an Impact:Assistant Manager, Food Service is responsible for organizing and supervising food and nutrition function and staff within the assigned site for the assigned shift.The incumbent is responsible to ensure adherence to service levels, sanitation and food service expectations as well as ensuring appropriate staffing levels and assigning tasks. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise staff and daily operations to ensure efficient workflows, quality service aligned with client agreements, and adherence to productivity standards.
  • Provide coaching, training (including remedial training), direction, and performance management to employees while ensuring compliance with the Collective Agreement.
  • Create and manage work schedules to meet business needs, client requirements, and key performance indicators.
  • Visit patients to address dietary concerns, confirm allergies, follow up on dietitian referrals, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Offer feedback and support with frontline staffing, including recruitment and candidate interviews.
Collaborate with the Manager to:
  • Monitor meal services to ensure process efficiency and resident satisfaction.
  • Coordinate dietary activities with other departments to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet budget requirements.
  • Develop cyclical menu plans that align with nutritional guidelines and incorporate resident input.
  • Manage inventory, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with the Ministry and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee fiscal budget management, ensuring financial guidelines are met.
  • Handle staffing functions such as training, development, performance management, and discipline, while maintaining compliance with collective agreements and health standards.
