Job Description

Who we are: Ashwood Glen is a new, progressive private school in Burlington for students in the Toddler Community to Grade 8. Our approach supports students in developing important attributes that will help them become autonomous learners.Career Opportunity: The Human Resource Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing human resources services, policies, and programs with the goal of acquiring and developing the right talent. This position is responsible for supporting the School’s strategy and enabling business success through job design, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, training and regulatory compliance.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership team to fulfill the school’s short- and long-term hiring needs.
  • Develop a first-class talent pipeline through consistent networking, referrals, and strategic research.
  • Define a recruiting strategy based on the specific opportunity and business needs, clearly communicate the process, and set and manage candidate expectations
  • Drive an unparalleled, end-to-end candidate experience from the job posting through to onboarding and development
  • Develop, implement and evaluate human resources programs including, but not limited to onboarding and offboarding, compensation, health, safety and wellness, employee benefits, training and development, records management, employee retention, employee relations and compliance
  • Handles all questions and employee relations matters, interpreting, and administering policies and procedures.
  • Develops performance management and succession planning systems to facilitate goal setting, constructive feedback discussions and the development of employee skills through training and career advancement opportunities.
  • Drives programs to enhance increased employee satisfaction and commitment levels that are aligned with corporate values and mission.
  • Leads on government and employment law related issues in collaboration with legal counsel where applicable.
  • Manages ethics hotline, and internal investigations as required.
  • Lead and develop employee engagement, culture, recognition and team building events.
  • Oversees payroll processing to ensure that it is administered on-time and accurately including yearend and accounting reports.
  • Oversees the administration of the benefit plan.
  • Analyzes and modifies compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs, ensure legal compliance and enhance work environment.
  • Oversees school’s communications in the areas of new hires, promotions, changes, new policies, benefits, and other information impacting employees.
  • Creates and publishes employee handbook and other materials.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
You Have:
  • University degree preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • CHRL designation
  • Minimum of 5 years experience at the management level
  • Strong skills in the areas of Canadian Employment Law
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll, employee relations, Health & Safety, benefit administration, recruitment, policy creation and effective communication
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Excel and MS Word is essential
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and have fun!
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $62,000.00-$72,000.00 per yearBenefits:
