Job Description

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining superior quality service for guests. Performing their job on a daily basis, they are required to be detailed in every aspect of their work while maintaining an efficient pace. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: (but not limited to):

  • Receive and process dirty linens
  • Sort linens, load and unload washers and dryers
  • Fold sheets/towels
  • Treat stains to ensure cleanliness and serviceability
  • Examine laundered items and discard linen which is no longer usable
  • Keep Laundry room neat and tidy (sweep, mop, take garbage out)
  • Clean dryer filters after each load
  • Accept deliveries and aid with inventory control
  • Ensure equipment is clean and in proper working order
  • Alert management of issues that arise
  • Monitor chemical levels and report when running low
Qualifications:
  • Functional English command
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Detail-oriented and professional attitude
  • Resourceful, motivated and show initiative
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Previous experience in a hotel laundry is a definite asset
  • Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment as well as cleaning techniques
  • Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs)
  • Frequent lifting, pushing of supplies and equipment.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling.
  • Must be able to work independently and follow instructions regarding priorities of tasks and functions.
  • Flexible availability (weekdays, weekends, holidays, as needed)
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $15.50 per hourAdditional pay:
  • Overtime pay
