  • High school diploma
Experience:
  • Minimum three-years #39; experience with facility maintenance and cleaning
Overall Purpose: This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment for staff and customers by completing janitorial duties.This position is also required to assist with maintaining cleaning/sanitation inventory and stock levels.Key Accountabilities
  • Perform full janitorial duties including the cleaning of washrooms, walls, floors, windows, waste containers, stripping, waxing and polishing floors, and other duties as necessary
  • Restocks facility supplies in washrooms, janitorial closets, and storage areas
  • Open and close the facility when required
  • Act as senior facilities contact when required
  • Perform additional position-related accountabilities assigned by management

  • The CEO and Senior Management Team, Managers, staff members and other members of the Facilities Department
External:
  • External customers, vendors, suppliers and service technicians

  • Knowledge of BPL organization
  • Knowledge of Facilities processes and policy
  • Knowledge of WHMIS
  • Knowledge of BPL health and safety policy
  • Proficient with Microsoft office 365
  • Expertise in cleaning and facility care
Work Environment
  • Professional office environment
  • Some outdoor work - exposure to elements
  • Some exposure to noise
  • Some exposure to dust
  • Travel may be required to branch libraries or suppliers
  • Uniforms and safety footwear provided
Working Hours
  • BPL is open seven days a week and the schedules may include regular evenings and weekends
  • Duties may require work after-hours in case of emergency situations
