Job Description

**IF YOU DO NOT LIVE/RESIDE IN CANADA (SPECIFICALLY ONTARIO), YOU WILL NOT BE CONTACTED FOR AN INTERVIEW**Our centre has been steadily growing, and we are seeking exceptional teachers for our students. An ideal candidate for this position will possess a passion for education and teaching, attention to detail, availability at least 2-3 evenings/week, and experience with children.This is a FANTASTIC job for university students, or recent university/teacher graduates; it looks great on your resume, will help you hone your teaching skills, and will expose you to a beautiful variety of students and teaching styles!Typically, we prefer OCT-certified teachers, but will consider superb undergraduate candidates. Below is an outline of this position and its expectations. Please review this information carefully before applying.Please note this is an IN-CENTRE position and you will NOT be working from home.****A stellar candidate for this position will possess the following skills:

  • OCT-certified preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or third/fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience.
  • Fluent English language (written and oral communication skills).
  • Comfortable with teaching math and general core subjects up to at least grade 8.
  • Ability to teach French and/or secondary math/science is considered a STRONG ASSET will be first priority for an interview.
Teaching Requirements:
  • MUST be available 2-3 evenings (3pm-8pm) and Saturdays (9am-1pm) - From September to June.
  • Must be available for in-person classes.
  • Dynamic, energetic and outgoing personality.
  • Highly organized, able to improvise and multi-task.
  • Friendly, personable and versatile.
  • Kind, cooperative, and a team player.
  • A genuine love of working with primary, junior and intermediate students.
  • Ideally, we prefer someone who resides in the Burlington/Hamilton/Halton area, however, it is not a necessity.
