Job Description

SecretarySt. Paul the Apostle Parish in Burlington is looking for a full time (25.5 hours/week) Secretary for the church office. Reporting to the Parish Priest, this position offers a competitive rate of pay. Weekly schedule is Monday 9am to 12:30pm (3.5 hours) Tuesday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (with half hour for lunch – 5.5 hours).Primary responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, handle phone calls and emails, direct inquiries to appropriate individuals.
  • Update the parish website as needed.
  • Compile, edit, and publish the parish bulletin
  • Record Mass intentions and issue Mass cards to individuals.
  • Maintain sacramental registration information and issue Sacramental certificates (Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage).
  • Maintain and update Parish calendar of events.
  • Order supplies for the office and Parish as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Pastor when required.
Requirements
  • Post Secondary education in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • 2-3 years of prior secretarial/office experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to organize and prioritize efficiently.
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • A good understanding of and respect for Catholic Doctrine, Liturgy and practice.
