Job Description

We are looking for a Part Time Security Guard to work at a Mall located at 900 Maple Ave, Burlington, ON. As a member of the GardaWorld team, your primary role is to ensure the safety and security of client assets, tenants and visitors to the assignment area in a professional and courteous manner. The hourly pay rate for this site is $16. 16 and the schedule would be as follows: Monday and Tuesday 12am to 8am.What does a Security Guard in Burlington do

  • Perform patrols on foot
  • Provide excellent customer service to everyone on the property
  • Work closely with the mall services as well as with the emergency services when appropriate
  • Assist visitors, guests and the renters staff with respect to safety, requests for directions, escorts, package transportation, lost vehicles, etc.
  • Apply property rules and regulations in a fair and responsible manner
  • Write daily and incident reports
  • Intervene during medical emergencies and provide first aid
  • Be prepared to respond to situations of crime, urgency and disturbance occurring at the mall
  • Facilitate access to authorized persons to restricted areas
  • Direct car traffic on the property, if necessary
  • Monitor closed circuit cameras (if applicable) to ensure proper operation of the shopping center
  • Answer and follow up on phone calls received by the security service
  • Monitor the fire alarm system and fire extinguisher system

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Burlington
  • Possession of a valid provincial security guard license
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment under stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment
  • Knowledge of criminal, provincial and federal laws as they pertain to the security industry
