We have a long history of providing comprehensive refrigeration and HVAC design, installation, and service offerings to Supermarkets as well as Commercial and Industrial markets across North America. We are a leader in advanced refrigeration technologies and state of the art products, offering turnkey solutions for new construction, retrofits for existing facilities, system controls, HVAC services, and sustainable energy services.Neelands is searching for a Service Technician to join our team servicing the Mississauga, Ontario location. This position is regular, full-time.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Service the Service Technician will work closely with the team on repair, install, troubleshoot and preventative maintenance of refrigeration systems. This role requires the individual to be available during the weekdays from 7:30am – 5:30pm for “on-call” and after-hours service calls from dispatch and/or prescheduled assignments.Your Role and Responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following

  • Response to service calls and scheduled maintenance and repairs for refrigeration and mechanical equipment;
  • Perform diagnostics to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment such as CO2 racks, Condensers, Evaporator fans, Glycol Racks, Expansion Tanks;
  • Troubleshoot to ensure the system is functioning properly following repairs;
  • Perform schedule and unscheduled repair and maintenance on refrigeration, and mechanical equipment;
  • Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team;
  • Provide recommendations and assist estimator with information on quote;
  • Build and maintain positive relationship with customers or clients;
  • Maintain service vehicle inventory and cleanliness;
  • Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid 313A Refrigeration License, 5th year apprentice will be considered;
  • Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate;
  • Valid G license with a clean driver abstract;
  • English language proficiency (read/write/speak);
Job Requirements
  • Gas Technician license G3, G2, G1 an asset;
  • Experience brazing an asset;
  • Commercial and industrial refrigeration experience an asset;
  • Experience servicing supermarkets an asset;
  • Member of Local 787 an asset;
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods training an asset;
  • Must be competent in reading blueprint and electrical and electronic schematics;
  • Must be able to understand electrical and plumbing concepts;
  • Must have basic knowledge of construction methods;
  • Must be able to operate tools, gauges and other testing equipment for refrigeration system;
  • Must have strong problem solving ability;
  • Must have strong professional communication skills;
  • Must work effectively independently and with a team;
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast pace environment;
  • Must possess strong attention to detail;
  • Must have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude;
