Job Description

Do you love video games We are excited to announce we are now hiring! Code Ninjas is the leader in coding education for kids ages 5-14 across Canada. At our centre in Burlington, Ontario, kids learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way at their own pace while building video games.We are located inside the ActivityPlex at 3410 Mainway in Burlington, Ontario. At our location, we focus on ‘edutainment’ with a whole child development approach drawing on 21st century learning objectives. We pride ourselves on being a place where kids feel like they belong and parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence, new STEM skills and new friends.We are looking for lead instructors to join our team of coding/video-game enthusiasts, working toward our common goal of providing a fun and safe learning environment through our summer camps.Our camps run Monday to Friday from 9am to 3:30pm every week of the summer.Who are youYou are an enthusiastic person who can manage a room of kids. You LOVE working with kids and are comfortable engaging with parents who may ask about their child’s progress. You are comfortable working with your fellow instructors to ensure all kids are being helped. You are prompt and organized, ensuring everything is on schedule and prepared for a successful camp.As lead instructor you will:

  • Lead the lessons provided by Code Ninjas to help kids learn concepts on a variety of platforms including Scratch, Lua (Roblox), MCreator (Minecraft), YouTube.
  • trouble-shoot activities with kids as encounter bugs or other problems.
  • supervise, guide and coach other staff to ensure all kids are getting sufficient attention.
  • interact with the kids to make the environment fun (for example, we like to talk with the kids about their favourite video games).
  • communicate with parents on their childs progress as necessary.
  • work hard to remember kids’ names, and have fun trying to have them remember yours!
Your Skills:
  • Comfortable leading a room of kids; able to keep their attention and focus.
  • Able to direct and coach other staff.
  • Energetic and able to get kids engaged and have fun.
  • Knowledgeable in Roblox and Minecraft .
  • Must pass a vulnerable-sector check.
Job Types: Full-time, SeasonalContract length: 2.5 monthsSalary: From $18.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
