We continue to grow in our industry by ensuring all employees possess the following core competencies: customer focused, team player, engaged, ethical, strong communication skills, and works safely.Job PurposeAs a result of our continuing growth, Alpha Technologies, an Enersys Company has an opportunity for a dynamic BUYER to join our Supply Chain group in our Burnaby location.Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer will ensure timely execution and closure of material orders within a fast-paced designing and manufacturing environment. They will foster strong working relationships with Team Members and Suppliers while working in conjunction with Alpha Commodity Managers to drive Cost, Quality, Delivery and Inventory improvements. This role requires coordination with the planning, production, materials, logistics, and customer service teams.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders and work with supply base to ensure timely and accurate supply
  • Utilize ERP tools to identify issues, resolve problems, and support supply chain planning metrics
  • Update orders and tracking systems to ensure the latest information regarding suppliers’ delivery is available
  • Alert affected teams on potential delays and recommend corrective measures well in advance to mitigate schedule risks
  • Perform back-up duties for other buyers
  • Process defective/rejected parts
  • Arrange disposal of surplus materials
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by manager
Qualifications
  • Create purchase orders and work with supply base to ensure timely and accurate supply
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Utilize ERP tools to identify issues, resolve problems, and support supply chain planning metrics
  • Update orders and tracking systems to ensure the latest information regarding suppliers’ delivery is available
  • Alert affected teams on potential delays and recommend corrective measures well in advance to mitigate schedule risks
