Union/Affiliation:Administrative Professional Excluded StaffPay range:SFU Department Descr:IT Services - CIO OfficePosition Grade:18# of openings:1Biweekly Hours:72In this newly created position, the Chief Information Security Officer is responsible for providing executive leadership to SFU’s communications infrastructure, computational and storage services for IT systems and leading and governing the security of information to ensure University-wide compliance. The Chief Information Security Officer’s portfolio includes servers, storage, networks, systems operations and institutional security, ensuring the provision of a reliable, functional and secure technology infrastructure. The role develops, leads and integrates security and governance practices across IT services to meet compliance standards, protecting the confidentiality and integrity of data and physical IT assets across the University.Drawing on previous experience as an information security leader in a complex environment, the CISO will be skilled at managing relationships and organizational demands across numerous cross-functional disciplines. They will prudently manage and minimize risks while also working to enable rather than inhibit initiatives proposed by various stakeholders.
