YFPS also provides services to young persons found unfit to stand trial and those youth found not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder (NCRMD), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.Under direction of the Regional Office Administrator (ROA), the Office Coordinator provides administrative leadership and support, reception and clinical record maintenance functions for the assigned office or clinic. Duties may include program, financial and clinical support functions including: word processing memoranda, correspondence and confidential assessment and treatment reports for the Youth Court and Probation; ordering and receiving supplies and reconciling purchases; reception; data entry; filing of client clinical records; and other related administration support duties (e.g. vacation relief and supporting special projects).Job Requirements:

  • High school/secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Three (3) years of administrative support/secretarial experience in an office environment; OR, equivalent education (i.e. successful completion of a recognized legal, medical or office assistant certificate program) supplemented by some work experience and training.
  • Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets and other standard computer applications
  • 50 wpm keyboarding speed is required.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Medical Office Assistant and/or Legal Secretarial training, and/or
  • Experience with Dicta-Typing.
  • Experience using medical/psychiatric/psychological terminology.
