Requisition ID: 145019Job Level: Mid LevelDepartment: Project Controls SchedulingMarket: TransportationEmployment Type: Full TimePosition OverviewKiewit is looking for a Project Schedule Analyst (Scheduler) to join our Western Canada District. Working closely with construction and engineering operations, you will build and update schedules as various milestones and project deliverables are completed, or additional scopes of work are added. In coordination with Project Managers, you will review Contractor baseline and updated schedules for compliance, and perform forensic analysis to evaluate delay impacts, and recommend changes as required.District OverviewKiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty! Our current opportunities are spread across the entire west coast of Canada.LocationBurnaby, BC or site-based.Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, evaluates, and forecasts current project status against an established baseline schedule.
  • Assesses the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
  • Provide technical support on claims litigation involving schedule delays/slippage.
  • Develops documentation for claims - assist operations personnel in identifying situations where a claim is likely and take early steps to prevent these claims and/or defend the company and, as appropriate the owner, from these claims.
  • Participates in meetings regarding project delay issues and suggest alternative means and methods of scheduling in order to recover the project’s progress as appropriate.
  • Participates in financial and legal project reviews as necessary to evaluate and mitigate any schedule risk in accordance with standard company procedures.
  • Prepares Time Impact Analysis for identified risks to schedule and budget; developing recovery and acceleration schedules.
  • Monitoring work processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Analyzing delays and impacts; recommend and making modifications to production schedules as required due to design changes, material shortages, backlogs, labor, weather, or other interruptions.
  • Reviewing production schedules, work orders, staffing, etc. in order to determine personnel requirements, material requirements and material priorities.
  • Provides training to large Construction Management staff on scheduling and delay analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or technical training and related experience.
  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience with Primavera scheduling software, including the following practices:
    • Cost Loading and Earned Value Management
    • Resource Loading and Leveling
    • Data entry through import or Global Change
    • Time Impact Analysis
  • 3+ years experience in forensic schedule analysis, and disputes and claims support.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Projects and Excel.
  • Strong narrative writing skills.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.

  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
