Little Vine Preschool is seeking to hire a fully qualified and experienced early childhood educator with a passion for and commitment to providing quality care and education to children aged 30 months to 5 years. We strive to create a fun and welcoming environment that incorporates both structured and play-based components to deliver a curriculum that will help children develop their capacity to learn and be socially independent.We are located at 1005 Kensington Ave in North Burnaby and have a newly renovated facility.https://littlevinelearning.ca/Role & Responsibilities: This position requires the ability to program plan to provide an inclusive program that focuses on whole child development as well as offer positive child guidance techniques and supervision. You will be working with the Director to lead classes of up to 20 children at a time to deliver a structured and dynamic program. It will involve being attentive to children’s needs but having a gentle but firm attitude in order to help guide children through a learning and developmental process.Responsibilities will include:· Provide a creative environment where children can discover, learn, and grow in all developmental areas· Provide positive care, guidance, and supervision to children· Always ensure the health and safety of children, always monitoring them with indoor and outdoor activities and during rest periods and ensuring that Health Medical Safety and Licensing regulations are being followed· Help organize and lead daily preschool activities, special events, field trips, and open houses; play a part in the development of a preschool curriculum· Assist with developing, planning, and implementing a comprehensive preschool program· Create and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and other staff· Communicate regularly with Little Vine Preschool families about concerns and updates, liaise with external agencies when necessary, and provide visitors with appropriate information· Recommend referrals or additional services for children with professionals such as behavioural therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists· Adhere to all guidelines and policies as outlined in BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and the Community Care and Assisted Living Act· Working knowledge of the BC Early Years Framework is essentialRequirements: · ECE Certification· 2 years experience working in program-based Early Childhood Education· First-Aid/CPR certification· Criminal record check (to be completed during hiring process)· At least 3 referencesQualifications: · Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and co-workers and ensure consistent positive, professional communications with them· Fluent in knowledge of child-care development, guidance and discipline, routines and transitions· Strong work ethic; self-motivated individual who has initiative· Ability to plan a program and set up a classroom to facilitate a positive learning environment for children· Leadership skills in leading a preschool program and training other teachers· Ability to manage time efficiently and multi-task in a dynamic environment· Track record of being able to work collaboratively in a team, but also able to work independently with initiative· Creative and independent problem solverCompensationPay will be determined based on experience and qualifications at a range of $18 - $22 hourly plus the $4/hour ECE Wage EnhancementJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contractContract length: 10 monthsPart-time hours: 25 per weekSalary: $18.00-$22.00 per hourBenefits:
