People like you!This position involves the operation, servicing and maintenance of mobile and stationary equipment such as tractors with specific attachments such as mower, fertilizer spreader, flail mower, aerator, and artificial field groomer. Duties include performing routine servicing and minor maintenance on equipment used; maintaining work records as required; and the ability to perform heavy manual outdoor labouring work in all types of weather conditions. As well as the operation of a concrete cutting saw used in paving; self-propelled rollers; stationary compressors and accessories . The successful candidate will be required to accept standby and call-out work assignments; operate a vehicle performing snow and ice control work and perform other related work as required. Performs related work as required.Qualfications include up to high school graduation plus considerable experience in operation of equipment used or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, procedures and rules of operation of the above-mentioned Parks Maintenance Grass equipment is required as well as skill in the operation of specified Parks Maintenance Grass equipment and in the use of tools used in minor repair tasks. Sound knowledge of the methods and practices used in servicing and maintaining equipment operated is required. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
