Job Description

BCIT’s School of Business and Media is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.27) Faculty, Real Estate to teach in the marketing management department in the Professional Real Estate option in a course designed to help students understand the fundamentals and functions of real property valuation. The course is delivered one day per week at the Burnaby campus in the Winter term (January to May, 2023).Duties & ResponsibilitiesApplicants should have strong working knowledge of commercial and residential real estate valuation, and be up-to-date with current industry professional appraisal standards and practices.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Business-related bachelor’s degree required, BCIT business diploma an asset.
  • Preferred Designations – AACI, P.App – Accredited Appraiser Institute Professional Appraiser, Professional Appraiser; CRA, P.App – Canadian Residential Appraiser, Professional Appraiser
  • Professional RI Designation from the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia is also preferred.
  • A respected, proven reputation in BC’s real estate industry.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ proven success working in related roles.
  • Instructional experience at a polytechnic or similar applied institution is preferred; and/or experience with professional coaching or other adult learning environments.
  • An established network of relevant professional contacts in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, and beyond.
  • Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collegial environment.

Salary Range Salary Range: $56,845 - $99,571 per annumAdditional Salary InformationSalary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
