Part Time Contract Position“Striving for Excellence in Mind and Performance”The Department of Athletics & Recreation at Capilano University is currently accepting applications for the positionof Head Volleyball Coach for their Intercollegiate Men’s volleyball program, for a one-year term, effective April 30,2021. This contract is renewable.Reporting to the Manager, Athletics and Recreation, this position is responsible for organizing, developing andimplementing a men’s volleyball program that abides by Capilano University‘s Coaching Code of Conduct as well asthe PACWEST Code of Ethics. You will be responsible for the recruitment and development of players, coachingteam practices and league games, coordinating team fundraising and developing a competitive program thatencourages sportsmanship, integrity, teamwork and scholarship. The Head Coach will also play a key role inmotivating and mentoring student-athletes to succeed academically and assist the Athletics Department with theorganization and implementation of Alumni events.This is a part-time contract position which requires after school hours, weekend work and some travel. The idealcandidate will have a minimum of 3 years coaching experience (preferably at the post-secondary, senior high school,or senior club level) and have demonstrated a high caliber of leadership, sportsmanship and coaching performance.The ideal candidate will also have effective communication and administrative skills with an ability to motivateathletes. The preferred candidate will have a post-secondary degree and have attained or be in the process ofqualifying for level 2 NCCP Coaching Certification.
