Our team is dedicated to providing clients with effective business and technical solutions through exceptional levels of service, innovation and flexibility.TWD is currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer with Buildings experience to join our team in Burnaby, BC!The Intermediate Electrical Engineer will also be responsible for the preparation of project specifications.The position pays between $75,000 - $90,000/year.Job SummaryAs an Intermediate Electrical Engineer – Buildings, you will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of electrical systems for building projects across a range of sectors including commercial, institutional, healthcare, and industrial. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions that meet project objectives, code requirements, and client expectations. This position involves contributing to project planning, design, coordination, and execution under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Technical Delivery

  • Develop and review electrical system designs for lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, data/communications, and other building services.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical reports to support project submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and field reviews to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other team members to ensure cohesive and efficient building design.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the coordination of design activities with internal and external stakeholders.
Quality and Risk Management
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the design phase.
  • Identify and address design risks and constructability issues early in the project lifecycle.
Mentorship and Development
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, contributing to team skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualificationsamp; Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4–9 years of experience in electrical engineering for buildings projects.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility preferred.
  • Proficient in general electrical engineering software tools used for design and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and applicable codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a collaborative environment.
