The Lead Data Strategist will establish an enterprise-level data governance, data quality and data management roadmap, including necessary processes, IT solutions and/or external services.The Lead Data Strategist is someone who understands various data storage solutions, including extract, transform and load technologies and is able to work with the Data Engineering team as needed. • An undergraduate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent, AND 4 years related experience*; OR
• A diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent, AND 5 years related experience*; OR
• A certificate, program completion, or some course work, AND 6 years related experience*; OR
• An equivalent combination of related education, training AND 7 years related experience

• MUST INCLUDE experience from each of the following:
• Experience in defining and implementing data lifecycle management practices.
• Experience in end-to-end data & metadata management principles.
• Experience influencing & collaborating with digital product teams.
• Experience discussing complex and new topics in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
• Experience providing leadership and supervision.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

• Experience in understanding and designing data integration patterns.
• Experience in natural resource data management; including tenure and permitting lifecycles
• Experience in data visualization, analytics, and reporting platforms.
• Experience with geospatial data and technologies.
• Experience working with Agile teams.
• Experience working with natural resource data.
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
• Experience in implementing data governance.
• Experience in techniques of data quality improvements.
