Job Description

This position provides support to the estimating team in the preparation of competitive tenders, primary budgets and construction management contracts on commercial construction projects.Matra is a commercial general contractor and construction management firm, specializing in interior tenant improvements and working in occupied spaces. The successful candidate will provide support to the estimator(s) relating to the activities of commercial construction projects including pre-qualifications, proposals, stipulated sum and construction management contracts in conformance with corporate processes and procedures.The position involves the following:

  • Assist in the preparation of estimates based on contract documents, drawings and site visits
  • Track all estimate related documents including drawings, specifications and addenda
  • Maintain an estimate log, electronic estimate filing system and active estimate chart
  • Prepare and maintain an active directory of suppliers and subcontractors
  • Manage and check regularly online bidding systems (Merx, BC Bid, etc.)
  • Attend site meetings and deliver tenders, as required
The position is a full-time salaried position with extended benefits after three months. It is an inclusive work environment with a great team.   • 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:Your workspace is open office with partitions and plexi. Masks required in common areas but not while alone in your private work area. Expect full-time at the office for 3 months of training with partial remote option afterwards.Application question(s):

Experience:
  • General Contractor estimating: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
