As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.Position Title: Lead, Indigenous Engagement, PRBCTeam and Location: Legal - Burnaby, BCPosition Summary:Working as part of the Policy, Sustainability and Government Relations team, the Lead, Indigenous Engagement, PRBC will lead all project specific engagements and support PRBC’s broader Indigenous Engagement Strategy, including consultations for Parkland’s refining business in British Columbia (PRBC). While this role supports PRBC, it will also support coordination and alignment with Parkland’s enterprise-wide Indigenous Relations Strategy and activities. They will be responsible for the execution, and tracking of Indigenous community engagement and consultation plans, activities and processes related to all Refinery projects and base business. This includes facilitating Indigenous engagement and consultation and assisting with other related activities as required.Key Responsibilities:Indigenous Engagement and ConsultationWork with the Director of Indigenous Relations to build and enhance meaningful, long-term relationships with local with Indigenous communities, government, and staff.Lead the development and execution of project specific Indigenous consultation plans through regulatory and non-regulatory processes.Support the development of relevant internal policies and procedures such as Indigenous procurement, employment and training initiatives, and communications plans.Manage the development and tracking of Indigenous community engagement and consultation activities, processes, materials and records, related to all Refinery projects and base business.Plan, coordinate, participate and implement events, meetings and workshops for and relating to Indigenous engagement and consultation, as required.Indigenous Relations StrategySupport the execution of PRBC Indigenous engagement activities, in alignment with Parkland’s Canadian Indigenous Relations Strategy.Conduct research into matters relating to Indigenous issues and opportunities that emerge through meetings with Indigenous groups.Liaise with internal Parkland teams, Indigenous communities, and external agencies to support engagement and consultation efforts.Qualifications and Skills:University degree in the field of Indigenous/community/public relations, business development, or project management; or equivalent experience.Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous peoples and cultural protocols, as well as Indigenous relations experience with communities in British ColumbiaAbility to collaborate effectively with community leaders to build lasting relationshipsAbility to develop and maintain productive working relationships and work collaboratively with Indigenous governments and representativesExercise’s discretion and good judgement in dealing with confidential and sensitive issuesStrong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation techniques and public speakingAble to develop and leverage broad and diverse networks as a result of strong established relationships developed on trustDemonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work across complex teamsProject management experience, including strong organizational and time management skillsProven ability to manage and track several tasks and projects at once in a fast-pace, deadline-driven environmentThe ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of industry, strong networks across many Indigenous communities in Canada.We Offer:Our Performance-based Annual Incentive Plan, an annual bonus awarding your performance.A share in our success through the Employee Share Purchase Plan and 100% company matching.A flexible group benefit plan that offers health and dental coverage choices to meet the needs of each unique employee.
