Our work environment will provide opportunities for career growth and independence in a fast-paced industry, and our roots as a process-based, lean operation will provide experience in a structured, process-driven environment.Our facility can be reached by Skytrain and bike lanes and is located near the Burnaby Lake trail system.Job Description and Responsibilities:We are currently seeking a manager for our engineering team of around 50 mechanical and electrical engineers. Greenlight designs, manufactures, and delivers custom-engineered products to a global customer base. The engineering team is responsible to deliver high-quality design definitions to the software, manufacturing, testing, and customer service teams to provide our customers with the top-performing, highest-quality equipment in the industry.Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for all engineering deliverables to internal and external customers.
  • Drive timely execution of project deliverables.
  • Oversee schedule and resource plan based on external and internal customer needs.
  • Take ownership in the execution and continuous improvement of engineering processes to ensure quality of output.
  • Coordinate technical or schedule updates to customers when necessary.
  • Support the development of new designs and assess the technical risks of each project. Provide technical leadership and facilitate timely decision-making for the engineering team.
  • Execute engineering tasks or troubleshooting for specific projects when necessary.
  • Provide support to Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Testing, and other internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain metrics related to engineering deliverables.
  • Own product safety and code adherence. (CE, ASME, CSA, UL, others)
  • Provide timely and concise updates to upper management and other departments.
  • Accountable for developing and training new employees.
  • Drive product and process improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering field.
  • P.Eng designation.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in industrial process engineering in a product environment.
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading a team of at least 4 people.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize.
  • Experience estimating costs, timelines, and risks.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience with designing to safety standards.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects/priorities.
  • Experience in a process-driven environment (ISO9001 experience an asset).
Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with equipment design and manufacturing is considered an asset.

Salary: The hiring range for this position ranges from CA$145,000.00 – CA$175,000.00. Your salary offered will be based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, and internal parity.Benefits:
