Job Description

Network Technical Analyst – Contract position in Burnaby (hybrid model):On behalf of our client in Burnaby, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a Network Technical Analyst with our client for a contract opportunity.Responsibilities:The Senior Voice Engineer will be responsible for the design, programming changes, troubleshooting, estimate preparation, staging, implementation, and upgrading any of legacy systems of Avaya CS1000 & NEC SV8000 PBX, Oracle Session Border Controllers (SBC), Genesys pure - connect and Cisco voice networks at multiple Lower Mainland health care facilities. The scope of activities will also include the following tasks:

  • Provide recommendations on the design and planning of our client’s network.
  • Install and configure network hardware and related software.
  • The document, implement and maintain network standards, making any upgrades or changes.
  • Support network security by configuring network devices according to security.
  • Troubleshooting, programming changes, operational & migration support of Avaya (Nortel) CS1000, NEC SV8000, SBC and Genesys pure-connect systems.
  • Preparation of documentation related to the assessment, design, implementation, and operational support of the legacy voice infrastructure and the current Cisco voice networks.
  • Assist with the preparation and installation of the Cisco voice network infrastructure.
  • Assist with the coordination and integration of the new Cisco voice system with existing site telephony systems such as Avaya (Nortel) CS1000, Avaya Session Manager, Oracle SBC & NEC SV8000 systems.
  • Provide network implementation/production cutover services outside of normal business hours, as required.
  • Provide technical direction/assistance to Voice Network Specialists.
  • Develop an understanding of the current Health Care standards as they relate to the Telecom service vertical.
Requirements:
  • A level is of education, training, and experience equivalent to a university degree or technical diploma in a program, such as Communications Technology.
  • Eight (8) years of recent legacy Avaya (Nortel), NEC, SIP trunking, Genesys contact center and Cisco voice network design, estimate preparation, planning, site assessment, and implementation experience.
  • In-depth knowledge/experience with current voice network standards and industry best practices required to implement a reliable voice network infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-grade legacy PBX and Cisco voice systems.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and results-oriented.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office.
