Job Description

NuWave Research Inc.’s patented technology goes beyond microwave drying. We provide our customers with customizable solutions for their Microwave-Assisted Processing (MAP) needs, including extraction, biosynthesis, and organic synthesis.We are growing and hiring a to provide technical and practical support for the design, fabrication, and commissioning of vacuum microwave machinery. This position is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of programming, coding, and automation.Responsibilities include:

  • Control system design for industrial food equipment and other turnkey industrial process packages.
  • Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, and sensors.
  • Debug and commission control systems at our facility, during the system integration stage.
  • Field commissioning as required of complete VMD machines, including PLC, HMI, motor control, valves, sensors, and cleaning systems.
  • Support R&D prototype development and test activities and provide remote support to customers.
  • Other duties as required.
Skills and Experience:
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with Automation and Instrumentation or similar.
  • 2+ years’ experience with PLC programming in ST language, TwinCAT III, and VFD.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics for trouble shooting at customer sites.
  • Intermediate level with C and HMI.
  • Experience with Beckhoff and with set up and query editing of SQL server is an asset.
  • Experience using version control / repository software is an asset.
  • Good and written English skills to explain PLC, HMI, Servo, Industrial Communication Network and VFD related topics.
  • Physically able to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods in an industrial environment and able to safely lift 22.7 kg/50 lb.
