Job Description

META is seeking a Scientific Writer based out of any of our North American office locations. We are looking for a skilled wordsmith that has experience developing content for whitepapers, product manuals, how-to guides, articles, and other content that distils technical information with ease and clarity.Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success
  • Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write content based on our various technologies
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
  • Work with the Graphic Designer to update and create product literature including specification sheets, brochures, printed and electronic collateral, copywriting, design, layout, and production of ads, Infographics and/or promotional materials.
  • Develop content specific to each of the vertical markets Meta is interested
  • Develop content specific to the personas and enable moving them through the buyer’s journey
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or public relations
  • 4-7 years experience as an effective technical writer
  • Ability to work with a team through multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Exceptional content management skills
  • The ability to track multiple deliverables with several stakeholders
  • Clear and confident communicator, with excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
  • Successful track record of dealing with third party vendors to achieve business goals
  • Demonstrated ability to create strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or bachelors degree in science or field of technology
  • 7-10 years of communications/marketing experience in a technology company
  • Experience managing small teams
  • Experience managing external consulting and agency vendors
  • Has experience collaborating with scientists and engineers to build compelling content
  • Motivated, self-driven professional with a good sense of humour
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks – often under pressure with shifting priorities
  • Open to occasional travel
