We are on a mission to rid the world of lousy technology service and are looking for a Systems Administrator to join us!About you:You are a self-starter. You have advanced knowledge of servers, networking, and storage for troubleshooting purposes. You are ambitious to improve your skillset and knowledge base and are enthusiastic about your commitment to life-long learning.As a full-time Systems Administrator, your core mission is to assist other Nerds to support our clients’ IT needs. This is a mid-level role.You are responsible for:

  • Responding to help requests from team members and clients
    • Accepting technical support tickets
    • Monitoring tickets from the time they are opened until the time they are closed
  • Assisting team members or clients with technology-related issues
    • Understanding the issue and its cause; solving the problem; and explaining the problem to the team member or client
  • Assisting the Site Lead with Project Planning and Deployment Strategies
  • Communicating technical information to non-technical users
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues and requests
  • Designing solutions to help resolve system-related business problems, meet user requirements, and streamline system workflows
  • Developing relationships internally with the company as well as externally with the clients
What you have:
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills; ability to set priorities and deadlines; meeting deadlines
  • Experience with the Microsoft stack of technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including listening skills
  • Experience working in a ticketing system with detailed note-taking skills
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure including servers, storage, access points, and network switches
  • Ability to explain a complex technical solution to a regular/non-technical user
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under stress while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work well with people
  • Ability to quickly establish good working relationships with clients
The following would be considered an asset:
  • Knowledge of integrating Mac into a Windows environment
  • Network+
Desired Certification:
  • A+
  • Microsoft certification(s) MCSA or MCITP
  • CISCO certifications(s) CCNA
  • MCSE/equivalent
Travel:
  • Travel to corporate locations throughout lower-mainland
  • Burnaby-based head office
