Union/Affiliation:Administrative and Professional Staff (APSA)Pay range:$61,225 To $73,114 AnnuallySFU Department Descr:Faculty of Arts and Social SciencesPosition Grade:8# of openings:1Biweekly Hours:72The Systems Consultant manages the delivery of IT solutions to multiple departments; manages local area networks; develops and establishes policies and procedures; manages technical budgets; develops software; and provides a range of IT consulting services in support of administration, teaching, and research.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computing Science and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Excellent knowledge of desktop and server operating systems (e.g., Windows, Mac OS, Linux and other Unix systems).Excellent knowledge of the main concepts and tools for software development, data management, quantitative and statistical analysis (e.g., R, Python, Git).Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).Excellent problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills.Excellent customer service, interpersonal, teamwork skills.Excellent time-management and organizational skills.Ability to develop applications/scripts using standard software development tools and techniques.Ability to evaluate and propose effective workstation and lab configurations.Ability to plan, configure, and maintain complex infrastructure environments in OSX, Windows and Linux.Ability to train and mentor junior staff.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to arrange suitable transportation to various work locations.Assignment End Date: March 31, 2022Please include your cover letter and resume in one attachment.
