Please Note: This opportunity is in partnership with WorkBC and is for People With Disability (PWD) Status only. This is an opportunity to create meaningful and compelling video content for the BC Wrongful Death Law Reform Society, working on arguably the biggest human rights issue facing the province today.‘In Their Name’ is the campaign of ‘The BC Wrongful Death Law Reform Society’. Our goal is to modernize British Columbia’s antiquated wrongful death legislation, which predates confederation (1846). Under current legislation, the value of a human life is measured only by the deceased’s future lost income, so long as they had dependents. All other provinces, including the Yukon have long since modernized. Only in BC is everyone’s life, except for breadwinners, worthless under the law. No “worth†means no “damages†to pursue in civil court. No “damagesâ€, means no “justiceâ€, and accordingly no accountability for wrongdoers.Key Responsibilities
