  • Manages the activities of the departmental staff. Identifies and determines position and incumbent requirements, including setting responsibilities and performance, development, and training objectives. Leads and motivates staff, inspires changes and creativity, evaluates performance, develops, and counsels employees and recommends salary increases.
  • Co-ordinates and supervises daily activities of the warehouse staff aligning activities to efficiently ship outgoing fulfilments and fulfil internal factory needs by moving required material to the appropriate production location. Understand special customer packaging, labelling, documentation, and scheduling requirements & define process and solutions for the team to execute on these requirements.
  • Responsible for receiving, internal inventory management, and outgoing inventory control and transaction. Oversees the cycle count and cycle count audits. Identifies and researches any inventory discrepancies and implements corrective measures when appropriate to maintain the accuracy of the warehouse inventory. Maintains a clean, safe, and secure warehouse.
  • Collaborate with Logistics resources to continually reviews carrier offerings and negotiates rates to ensure a balance between best financial value and customer satisfaction. Reviews freight bills ensuring accuracy of rate charged and authorizes for payment.
  • Recommends procedural and process enhancements to improve department efficiency. Pursues opportunities to measure performance levels to continually measure our levels of meeting our customer value proposition. Maintains awareness of technology changes in the business community as it relates to warehouse and distribution.
  • Strives to consistently reflect Mustang’s vision, values, and goals in all undertakings by actively and enthusiastically assisting internal & external customers; continuously increasing personal level of expertise in the position and chosen profession; and demonstrating a high level of professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • Diploma, Operations Management with three to five years’ supervisory experience in a shipping/warehouse environment OR five to 10 years supervisory experience in a shipment / warehouse environment. .
  • Experience with Netsuite, Oracle, or SAP is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate and counsel employees
  • Ability to be hands on in the warehouse environment a must
  • Ability to be flexible to changing tasks based on changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and a heavy workload while maintaining a calm demeanour
  • Ability to operate shipping machines and standard office equipment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills including good command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic
  • Ability to regularly lift 65 lbs
  • Knowledge of various inventory control techniques
  • Ability to work effectively with figures
