About Us: VanPeople Network Ltd. is a leading multidisciplinary online classified and media advertising company located in Vancouver (Canada). The contents hosted on Vancouver.com gets visited millions of times by local Chinese speaking users on a monthly basis and we also have thousands of advertising clients coming from various industries located in the great Vancouver region. Our iOS and Android App have over 30,000 daily active users. In addition, our various WeChat Official accounts have over 200,000 followers and the articles we posted each day are shared thousands of times by our readers. We have also participated in the hosting of various large events for multiple famous Chinese celebrities during recent years.Job DescriptionWe are currently looking for multiple full-time WeChat Official Account Content Writer to join our team. Our WeChat Official Account Content Writers are responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination of the content, and will source photos, write content, interview people and come up with content strategies that will drive growth and engage with the local Mandarin-speaking community.Responsibilities:

  • Research engaging content, brainstorm ideas and make recommendations for content topics.
  • Source or capture images, videos and write stories relevant to the Mandarin-speaking community.
  • Writing and proofing copy for posts, conducting interviews and sourcing images for promotion of news pieces on Company WeChat Official Accounts.
  • Content curation, create interesting content for WeChat advertising
  • Developing and implementing strategies to grow the subscriber base including sharing the WeChat QR code widely and reviewing analytics to guide the content strategy.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent understanding of, and capacity to produce content in, written Mandarin
  • Extensive experience using WeChat
  • The ability to produce WeChat analytics reports
  • Demonstrated writing and social-media skills
  • Knowledge of good online written content, and how it differs in structure and style from print content to digital communication channels
  • Ability to use WeChat Official Account editing tools fluently such as Xiumi.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the local Mandarin-speaking audience
  • Ability to research and produce content of interest to the Mandarin-speaking community
  • Previously online editorial experience, exceptional writing and reporting skills as well as an ability to produce viral content.
  • Lived in Vancouver for more than 2 years is preferred.
  • Experience producing news stories, in-depth investigative features, and opinion pieces.
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $15.00-$26.00 per hourAdditional pay:
