Assistant Plant ManagerSalary Range: $94,500 - $115,500 per yearLocation: Burns LakeAt Drax, we #39;re working towards a zero-carbon, sustainable future and you can help make this future a reality.About the roleAre you looking to take a career step into a management positionAs Assistant Plant Manager, you #39;ll help to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Working closely with the Plant Manager and Superintendents, you #39;ll champion the Drax Safety Culture and ensure that all operational and maintenance targets are met.Utilizing your excellent communication and influencing skills, you #39;ll collaborate with and make recommendations to the key stakeholders. Role responsibilities will include organizing, attending and leading strategic meetings, owning resulting actions and reviewing process opportunities.You #39;ll be tasked with the approval authority and responsibilities of the Plant Manager in their absence. This may include reporting, site updates, hot work and responding to upset conditions.The role is based at Burns Lake, but you may be called upon for short durations of time to help support other sites during peak times or major projects which require additional assistance.About youThe ideal candidate will have strong managerial experience leading and motivating high performing teams within operations or maintenance. Ideally, this will be coupled with a background in wood product manufacturing, oil and gas, mining or similar.Effective communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills are essential.In addition to a continuous improvement mindset, you #39;ll need a proven commitment to safety and broad understanding of safety systems, safety culture and achieving safe performance.You #39;ll have demonstrable experience successfully managing and delivering multiple projects at one time.A post-secondary degree or diploma in business, operation or a related technical field would be considered an asset.About DraxDrax is playing a vital role in helping change the way energy is generated, supplied, and used.
