Manufacturing Process InternBlackline Safety (TSXV: BLN) is a wireless location leader that develops, manufactures, and markets products and services for worker safety monitoring. Blackline #39;s vision is to become the leading supplier of wirelessly connected worker safety monitoring products in the world.Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Process Intern will play a key part in driving new product delivery, maintaining the operational gains achieved through continuous improvement, and in accelerating continuous improvement projects. From assisting with our circuit board manufacturing all the way though to manufacturing and service, the Manufacturing Process Intern will work with multiple disciplines and be focused on the daily productivity improvement activities required to sustain rapid growth and support new products. This position is a term of 12 to 18 months. Who are you

  • You are currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program
  • You are hands-on and prepared to get involved with all aspects of operations with a can-do attitude and collaborative spirit
ResponsibilitiesWorking with and under the supervision of a team of Manufacturing Process Engineers, you will
  • Support manufacturing process readiness for new product introduction launches
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities to increase yield, throughput, and productivity in multiple manufacturing lines, and own their ongoing technical health
  • Engage with Product Development and other disciplines to complete root-cause analyses of issues in product or process and ensure resolution
  • Create documentation, procedures, and processes to standardize manufacturing operations
  • Develop or source fixturing, tools, and other equipment to aid in manufacturing tasks
  • Complete audits of operations processes for operator compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
You will gain
  • Skills in manufacturing line design, operations project management, and new product launches
  • Knowledge of electronics and assembly industry best-practices
  • The ability to rapidly prioritize and balance conflicting priorities
  • How to operate in a Lean Manufacturing environment and how to apply basic Six Sigma tools
  • Experience with gas detection, PCBA manufacturing, injection molding, radio technologies, gas detection, and metalwork manufacturing
  • Skill in data acquisition and analysis experience using databases
