Sales Manager AlbertaFull-TimeBased in CalgaryReference Number: CAN-AB-CAL-170-171024 SUMMARYReporting to the General Manager, the Sales Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Account Managers. This role involves overseeing day-to-day activities, ensuring team performance aligns with sales targets, and fostering a collaborative culture. The Sales Manager will also engage in strategic sales planning and support key national accounts in Alberta, collaborating with regional offices to enhance initiatives and meet customer needs.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coach and manage Account Managers to meet monthly and annual sales targets using effective sales processes.
  • Maintain high visibility with key accounts, fostering strong strategic relationships.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for the region to achieve sales goals, product profitability, and increase market share.
  • Maintain positive relationships with key vendors, ensuring adequate market support.
  • Cultivate relationships with key department supervisors and managers to enhance collaboration.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Promote effective use of CRM systems among account managers to optimize sales efforts.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with the Inside Sales group to ensure alignment and support for established sales programs.
  • Collaborate with corporate credit to assess risks associated with existing and prospective customers.
  • Implement educational and technical training programs to enhance the skills and professionalism of the outside sales staff.
RequirementsEXPERIENCE
  • Minimum five years’ experience managing, leading, and coaching an outside business-to-business sales team in either the hard goods, wholesale, or CPG industries.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong ability to assess local market conditions and respond effectively.
  • Proven skills in managing and coaching teams to achieve high performance.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in professional sales techniques with B2B customers and key accounts.
  • Skilled in establishing internal and external relationships to identify and implement growth strategies.
  • High level of self-discipline with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Practical experience in call management disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of the sales cycle and the ability to execute strategies effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly for presentations to customer and business owners.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM and ERP systems.
EDUCATION
  • High school diploma is a minimum requirement.
  • Formal sales training is preferred
  • Post- secondary education in business is preferred.
OTHER
  • Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel within Alberta – approximately 70% of the time in the territory
  • Ability to enter the United States
