4Sight Search Solutions is currently recruiting an Art Gallery and Frameshop Assistant for one of Canada #39;s most respected dealers of fine art. They specialize in historical, post-war, and contemporary, as well as living artists, bringing quality art and impeccable customer service to clients nationwide. This is a temporary-to-permanent position and will be providing framing, gallery, and shipping support. This is a great opportunity for someone with either a related education and/or experience background in art, or perhaps a interest and passion in this area. Hours of Work: 9:30am - 5:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday (40 hours per week).Rate of Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour (the higher wage will require experience)Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Tidying and maintaining both mezzanine storage and the gallery/viewing space.
• Assisting with installing and disassembly of exhibitions. Hanging artwork and applying wall vinyl.
• Supporting custom framing, along with organizing, shipping, and crating both framing and artwork.
• Assisting with carrying clients #39; artwork to their vehicle.
• Locating, moving, and storing artwork.
• Photography assistance for large scale works.
• Breaking down and separating packaging for recycling or re-use.
• Emptying the dishwasher daily, keeping the kitchen tidy, and taking out the garbage as needed.
• General support of gallery / frameshop staff and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Preference will be given to those with a background in art, frameshop, or related field.
• Helpful with a positive attitude and friendly communication style.
• Capable of lifting and carrying heavy artwork.
• An ability to work independently with an impeccable attention to detail.
• Appropriate business attire will be required.
• Willing/eager to learn with a passion for art-related products.
