Job Description

Job Summary: (Must be willing to relocate to Calgary, AB)The Autobody Technician is responsible for restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition using a variety of repair techniques and tools. This role involves repairing structural and non-structural damage, replacing or repairing panels, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. The technician must work efficiently, accurately, and collaboratively within the collision repair team.Responsibilities:

  • Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Remove, repair, or replace damaged body parts, including panels, fenders, bumpers, and frames.
  • Use frame straightening and welding equipment as needed.
  • Grind, sand, fill, and smooth repaired surfaces to ensure proper contour and fit.
  • Reassemble vehicles after repair and ensure proper fit and function of parts.
  • Work closely with estimators and painters to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow manufacturer and industry repair standards and safety guidelines.
  • Document all work performed and communicate with team members as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman/Red Seal Certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in autobody repair.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding equipment, and repair systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to read repair estimates and follow OEM repair procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license (Alberta Class 5) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:This role involves working in a repair shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, paint, and chemicals.
