Job Description

AGAT Laboratories is a full-service laboratory with locations across Canada. We are the most diversified laboratory in Canada. Our scientists are highly-skilled and specialized in the fields of biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, geology, engineering and other specialty services. With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.AGAT is a dynamic and fast-growing organization committed to leveraging data to drive business success. We are seeking a talented Business Analyst to join our team and play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that support our operations and sales functions.Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to review client facing applications for improvements; propose application enhancements and business process improvements
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and dashboards.
  • Create visually compelling and insightful dashboards in Power BI to support business needs.
  • Develop understanding of AGAT’s internal and client facing applications including multiple platform offerings, data capture, process controls and KPI monitoring
  • Validate initiatives raised by business stakeholders and partner with the business to forge new project initiatives
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
  • Learn new in-house applications and become a product owner with expertise in troubleshooting problems
  • Prioritize requirements according to business benefits, difficulty to execute and implementation pre-requisites
  • Develop an understanding of the operation’s business requirements, documenting applicable specifications and translating into functional design documentation
  • Manage project solution delivery by coordinating involved parties to enable successful project execution
  • Collaborate with operations and sales teams to understand their data needs and deliver customized solutions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop strong understanding of all applications used within the business and promote services to internal stakeholders
  • Implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing data requirements;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience
  • Proven experience in creating reports in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts).
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, including building and optimizing dashboards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
  • Proficiency in working with and manipulating large datasets.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilitie
