Job Description

Atlantis Research Labs is a Canadian research and development company focused on aerospace, defense and energy. We develop and leverage patented technology to bring innovation to market.We are on an exciting trajectory of growth and are looking for a driven CFO to join our team. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for leading the company’s financial operations, with a strong focus on navigating the capital markets and securing investment to fuel our growth. This role is ideal for a well-connected individual with extensive experience in banking and investment, who can strategically position the company for long-term success. The right candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to attract investors and manage financial risks, while also serving as a key advisor to the CEO and board.Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital Marketsamp; Investment: Lead efforts to identify and secure capital, including managing relationships with investors, venture capitalists, and financial institutions.
  • Investor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing investors, ensuring clear communication of the company’s financial health and growth prospects.
  • Financial Strategyamp; Planning: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring the company’s long-term financial health.
  • Bankingamp; Financial Operations: Manage banking relationships, optimize capital structure, and oversee day-to-day financial operations.
  • Executive Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement growth strategies, providing financial insights and analysis.
  • Complianceamp; Governance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining high standards of financial governance.
RequirementsQualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably with high-tech start-up companies.
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, fundraising, and investment strategies.
  • Strong network within the investment and banking communities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute with precision.
  • Experience in managing investor relations and navigating complex financial environments.
