About MRU Founded in 1910 and located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Mount Royal University grew into a vibrant college in the 1930s and became a mid-sized university in 2009. The city of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation.About the Department of Child Studiesamp; Social Work The Department of Child Studiesamp; Social Work at Mount Royal University invites applications for a Child Development Lab Coordinator. This is a permanent full time 10-month position (mid-August to mid-June) working with the Department of Child Studies and Social Work and their stakeholders. The Department of Child Studies and Social Work offer Degrees in: Bachelor of Child Studies and Bachelor of Social Work, and a Diploma in Social Work. With a progressive approach to studies that focuses on children, youth, families and communities, Mount Royal University’s Bachelor of Child Studies program emphasizes experiential learning in each of its two majors; Early Learning and Child Care, and Child and Youth Care Counsellor. The program provides a theoretical foundation and valuable hands-on learning opportunities in and outside the classroom. Going beyond traditional program offerings, the Bachelor of Child Studies focuses on creating experienced, well-rounded graduates who are prepared to become strong advocates for children, youth and families. For information, please go to our website: Department of Child Studies and Social Work Child Development Lab - MRUAbout the Role The Child Development Lab (CDL) Coordinator, facilitates operations of the Child Development Lab (CDL). This is an inclusive multi-purpose space that creates possibilities for high impact learning, research and professional development. The fully functional space offers natural opportunities for children, youth and adults to explore, play, and learn together. The purpose of this role is to facilitate, arrange, and support the use of the CDL and ensure accessibility for courses, research and professional development opportunities. This is a full-time permanent position working 35hours per week.ResponsibilitiesWorking with a diverse population of users Collaboration and support of coordinators, course leads, students, researchers and community Internal collaboration and communication with the Mount Royal University community Knowledge and development of organizational policies and procedures Purchasing, inventory, maintenance of supplies and materials, budget tracking Familiarity and effective use with a variety of technological platformsQualifications Priority will be given to applicants who have Early Learning and Childamp; Youth Care, and post-secondary experience.
