• Build Neo’s second line of defense function including setting goals, priorities, and implementing new policies and procedures
• Lead Neo #39;s implementation of policies and processes to comply with Retail Payments Activities Act (RPAA)
• Liaise with business and product teams on understanding, managing, and responding to risk of all types
• Work directly with key external partners and regulators on Neo’s risk and compliance function
• Leverage risk knowledge and communication skills to progress operational risk and compliance maturity at Neo

Who we’re looking for:

• You bring 7-10 years of experience in compliance and risk management roles within financial services or other regulated industries
• You are a strong people leader, and understand what makes up effective risk and compliance programs and can translate that to team-level adoption and daily operations
• You can build relationships as well as establish trust and credibility with your colleagues through excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• You have experience working effectively in a team environment where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are critical to success
• Expert knowledge of relevant compliance requirements and industry best standards related to risk management for financial services companies is an asset (i.e. PIPEDA, financial and consumer protection regulations, RPAA, etc.)
• You have a risk-oriented mindset and can identify and assess risk across a variety of diverse exposures.
• You are a process oriented person, and strive to always find the most efficient way of doing things
• You are pragmatic, and seek to find solutions that strike the right balance of risk and cost that integrate in existing ways of working
