You’ll get real-world ready AND have a hands-on impact.Business Link has partnered with Digital Main Street to deliver the Stream 1 of the Canada Digital Adoption Program in Alberta, Grow Your Business Online Grant. CDAP is designed to assist small business owners with digital transformation and is part of a Government of Canada initiative profiled in the media recently by The Globe and Mail and the Prime Minister of Canada. The Grow Your Business Online Grant will help small businesses across Ontario take advantage of e-commerce opportunities, by providing access to a grant of up to $2,400 and a dedicated E-Commerce Advisor. The Canada Digital Adoption team will be comprised of digital innovators, with the proven ability to build meaningful connections and lead through change.We are looking for recent graduates and post-secondary students across Alberta to remotely support small businesses in their digital transformation and help them succeed in the e-Commerce space.You’ll gain experience in:

• Understand the Grow Your Business Online Program: objectives of the program, eligibility requirements for businesses, eligible activities, and costs for businesses to receive a $2,400 micro grant
• Learn the capabilities of several e-commerce solutions and related tools: e-commerce and digital marketing plans for small businesses, as well as how to build, launch and optimize an e-commerce store.
• Access on-demand training from corporate partners including Mastercard, Google, Shopify, Microsoft, Facebook (Meta), Intuit QuickBooks, Square Online, Ecwid by Lightspeedamp; more with a detailed, customized curriculum for you!
• Understand the basics of cybersecurity: small business risk assessments and how to develop a tangible action plan to improve their privacy and security of their online presence
• Develop communication and client relationship skills: engage 1:1 with small business owners, deliver consultations and guidance on e-commerce related strategies to reach their business goals

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution
• Be a top tier communicator (written and verbal)
• Proven ability to create meaningful relationships through a variety of remote media and nurture those relationships over time
• Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated success in a client facing customer service, digital marketing or business strategy role
• Be creative and a critical-thinker prepared to problem-solve on a case-by-case basis
• Be self-motivated, independent, and possess a strong work ethic in order to achieve exemplary work in a remote setting
• Be familiar with digital technologies for small business (e.g: web, social media, e-commerce)
• Must have access to a computer/laptop, a webcam and microphone

The below would be considered a strong asset:

• Previous examples of success with eCommerce platforms
• Experience with online and offline marketing
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with clients
• Experience teaching or training people

Mandatories Requirements:

• MUST be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident
• MUST be legally entitled to work in Alberta
• MUST have a valid Social Insurance Number
• MUST for able to work all Days of Work: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
• MUST be comfortable with the Wage: $20 an hour paid as salary based on 40 hours a week
• MUST for full able to commit to the Contract: September 25, 2023 - February 16, 2023
