Job Description

We are hiring a Functional Safety Engineer and you #39;ll play a key role conducting functional safety analysis and planning to ensure our positioning products are in compliance at Hexagon Autonomyamp; Positioning.You will work closely with our Functional Safety and Product Cybersecurity Manager and collaborate with our highly skilled autonomous team to develop positioning products. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We offer a hybrid work environment and for the right person, we will consider home based work in Canada,USA, and Europe.As Functional Safety Engineer, you will:

  • Develop functional safety plans for product development and work with process owners to address functional safety and process requirements
  • Create safety concepts and related documentation
  • Perform safety analysis and metrics calculations
  • Review and approve work products from a functional safety perspective
  • Conduct product functional safety audits and assessments and support third party audits and assessments
Must-Have:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer Science)
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a ISO 19014 or ISO 26262 compliant product development environment with involvement in functional safety activities
  • Exposure to hardware development
Key Success Factors:
  • Ability to work productively with colleagues and cross functional teams
  • Proficient in leading technical activities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as it pertains to articulating, documenting and presenting findings and recommendations
Nice-to-Have:
  • Exposure to ISO 17757 Autonomous Machinery Standard
  • Training certification in ISO 26262
  • Functional safety ASIC development experience
