We are currently looking a Head of Project Development to join our M Renewables team as we prepare for our imminent launch in Calgary, Canada. In this role, you will lead MYTILINEOS #39; project development activities in North America, with a significant focus on the Canadian and US markets. You will play a pivotal role in driving our investments and growth in these dynamic markets. As a Head of Project Development, you will be managing the local development team, reporting progress to, and supporting the Regional Managing Director – North America and the Country Manager (Canada) in setting the overall development strategy for Canada, and the North America region. You may find more information about the project here. Your role will encompass: Project Development Leadership:

  • Lead Mytilineos #39; project development activities in North America, with a primary focus on Canada.
  • Drive investments in the Canadian market and report progress to regional management.
Project Acquisitionamp; Development:
  • Lead the Canadian team in acquiring and/or developing greenfield, brownfield, ready-to-build, and operating utility-scale solar PV, wind, storage, and other projects.
  • Offer support for similar processes in the rest of North America (US and Mexico).
  • Analyzing and structuring transactions
Transaction Management:
  • Manage transactions through their complete life cycle, including origination, financial modeling, due diligence, structuring, development, financing, and execution.
  • Preparing pitch books / investment memoranda and presenting the transaction’s investment thesis/rationale to the Regional Managing Director – North America and/or the Country Manager (Canada) and Mytilineos’ internal investment and risk committees
Project Ownershipamp; Documentation:
  • Take full project ownership, along with his team, in overseeing financial modeling, asset information collection, Q amp;A, due diligence, project management, and accountability of project results.
  • Supervise and lead negotiations for project documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Leading his team and providing guidance in negotiations and collaboration with external parties (developers, off-takers, co-investors, lenders, and government stakeholders) and internal teams (EPC, O amp;M, Project Finance, and Treasury/Accounting).
  • Coordinate with third parties for project information and due diligence.
Business Strategyamp; Market Insights:
  • Develop and implement a 3-5 year strategy and business plan for development activities in Canada. Maintain insights into the local renewable energy markets, including regulations, trends, and key players.
Asset Deliveryamp; Management:
  • Support project delivery, from construction to divestment, by coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Participate in project handoffs with construction and EPC management teams and project financing.
Leadershipamp; Team Management:
  • Lead and supervise the Canada Project Development Managers, Project Development Analysts, and their respective teams.
  • Provide clear project development and business development plans to regional management.
Brand Representation:
  • Represent the company in industry events and forums to actively promote and enhance the company #39;s reputation within the country.
What you bring to the role:
  • 10+ years in senior management within Renewable Energy Business
  • Successful track record in project development and acquisitions/investments
  • Expertise in utility-scale solar/wind projects, energy storage, and related areas
  • Proven experience in originating, structuring, and executing renewable energy transactions
  • Commercially and business oriented with passion for renewable energy
  • Motivatedamp; self-starter; adept at analyzing and distilling issues/problems quickly and providing creative solutions; capable of managing adversity and visualizing opportunities where others see difficulties
  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Experience with Mergersamp; Acquisitions
  • Business Strategy acumen
  • Exceptional collaboration skills in a matrix organization
  • Proficient in English with a focus on effective communication
  • Extensive network in North American renewable energy markets
