Job Description

Located in Calgaryamp; Leduc, with projects throughout Western Canada, we are a leader in the oil and gas industry for turn-key new construction, maintenance and prefabrication.The Paint/Blast Supervisor is accountable for ensuring that work is safe, estimating and ordering paint quantities, and ensuring all waste is stored and disposed of properly and achieving the required outcomes.The Paint/Blast Supervisor reports to the Construction Manager within the context and prescribed limits established by the Construction Manager and the Alstar Group of Companies’ policies and guidelines. What we’re looking for from you – If this describes you, we’d love to meet!
  • Supervising 4-6 people as an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a construction/fabrication environment is a strong asset
  • NACE / AMPP certification is an asset
  • Holds a valid GDL Class 5 driver #39;s license
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Spray equipment repair + maintenance is an asset
  • Experience blasting + painting in an industrial setting
  • Excellent leadership capabilities
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities
Accountabilities:
  • Ensure that work is set up safe and properly for efficient workflow.
  • Estimate and request paint, sundry items and tools.
  • Ensure all waste is stored and disposed of properly.
  • Coordinate and oversee employee activities and workplace operations
  • Train workers and ensure that they are following safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Ensure adherence to client specifications and quality are maintained.
  • Following Product Data Sheets to ensure paint is applied properly.
  • Maintain Consumable levels to adequately support workflow.
  • Provide support with Maintenance to keep equipment working and report concerns to Management.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and plan maintenance activities without the Maintenance department.
  • Ability to meet paint specifications provided by clients.
