Job Description

MatrixHR is currently recruiting multiple journeyman/woman electricians that are well experienced in solar work. We are seeking self-motivated, energetic, and personable individuals with great leadership skills to join our clients project in Calgary.

  • Full-time Hours
  • Pay rate: $39.50 - $43.50/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Compressed work week scheduling (Monday-Thursday)
Primary duties of the job include:
  • Installing solar electric systems on residential and commercial roofs (various slopes).
  • Installing solar electric systems on ground mount projects.
  • Ensuring crew and job site safety, including proper use of PPE and Fall Protection.
  • Leading quality installations based on system design and specifications.
  • Distributing material and solar modules throughout the site, including using ladders.
  • Using manual and powered hand tools to install racking and modular components.
  • Mentoring and leading pre-indentured and 1st/2nd year apprentices.
  • Assisting with site upkeep as required.
  • Providing friendly and professional service to all customers.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson Certificate required (Red Seal preferred).
  • Experience with medium and high voltage terminations.
  • Ability to carry heavy solar panels and other items up to 60 lbs throughout the day.
  • Strong leadership skills – able to apply direction as a crew lead and mentor apprentices.
  • Comfortable working on roofs (various slopes) Previous roofing experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions – year-round work available.
  • Reliable transportation - Preferred
  • Valid Fall Protection training/certification
Assets (preferred but not required):
  • Solar training and/or certification (SAIT, NAIT, NABCEP, SEI, etc.)
  • Solar installation experience – Residential, Commercial, or Industrial projects.
  • Experience working on sloped roofs (commercial or residential).
