Job Description

MatrixHR is actively seeking multiple skilled Journeyman Welders. Successful candidates will be proficient in reading blueprints, operating various welding equipment, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Location: Rocky View, ABLength: 6 Month Contract Pay: $33.00/ per hourShifts: Day and Night shifts available Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols.
  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
  • Remove welds using the Air Arc Gouging process.
  • Accurately complete time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets, and other required documentation.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • 3 years + of work experience in welding.
  • Interprovincial Trade Certification.
  • Specialization in structural construction welding is considered an asset.
  • Ensure all required Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) qualifications are current.
  • Solid understanding of welding equipment and accessories.
  • Knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat temperatures and applications.
  • Operate manual flame-cutting equipment.
  • Adjust welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications.
  • Mentor and train apprentices.
Candidates Must Have:
  • Must have their own transportation as the location is not accessible via public transportation.
  • Must possess CSA approved safety boots.
  • Welders will need their own gloves and helmet
  • Safety Tickets: TDG, WHMIS 2015, First Aid.
