Job Description

The opportunity The Calgary Marketing Events Manager, reporting to the Associate Marketing Director, collaborates on event strategy and tactics with colleagues and firm Partners.They will be responsible for event management and production, including day-to-day operations such as communications, registrations, vendor management, budget, logistics and technical production for a range of in person and virtual events from intimate roundtables to multiday conferences ranging in size from 10 to 1,000+. This role is responsible for executing both internal employee events as well as external client events. This position is to cover a maternity leave and is available as a full time or part time contract. What you will do

  • Initial event project planning to determine overall objectives and optimal return on investment while recommending bespoke event options.
  • Management of multiple events at any given time.
  • Vendor relationship management.
  • Budget management from conception to final reconciliation.
  • Event preparation and delivery - from sourcing venues, finalizing contracts, conducting briefings with all vendors and staff prior to event, vendor relations, liaising with all internal teams as required (Marketing, HR, IT, Creative, Digital etc.), managing on-site teams, registration staff/volunteers, logistics (transportation, F amp;B, accommodations), and overall technical production of the event including technical floorplans and run of shows, post event communications and reporting.
  • Recommend and implement the latest technologies and digital tools.
  • Support the Calgary marketing team with projects as required.
What you bring to the role
  • 8+ years #39; experience in meeting/event planning in a corporate environment
  • University degree in hospitality, marketing, project management or equivalent experience
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Event Management designation is an asset
  • Strong relationship management skills, exceptional organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work on numerous tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding, deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated results-orientated work style
