Reporting to the Director, CRU Projects, the Term Project Manager – Telecom will be part of a small team accountable for executing AltaLink’s Telecom CRU Program. This is a two-year term position.Responsibilities

  • Responsible to effectively setup and manage multiple capital maintenance projects valued at up to $3 million dollars each from inception to completion.
  • Manage overall scope, cost, quality, schedule, and safety to meet the project objectives.
  • Support the siting and regulatory approval processes.
  • Interface with internal customers throughout project execution, report on progress and obtain approval for all scope and schedule changes.
  • Manage internal resources and contractors throughout project execution (engineering, procurement and construction phases).
  • Manage and coordinate multiple customers and changing priorities.
  • Effectively and accurately report project status, finances, and schedule for senior management.
  • Manage AltaLink #39;s identity with customers and stakeholders affected by telecom projects.
RequirementsQualifications:
  • University Bachelor Degree in Engineering required. Preference will be given to a degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Qualifies for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
  • At least two years of project management experience or relevant EPC experience.
  • Engineering experience in the telecommunications or substations fields would be an asset.
  • Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
  • Project Management certification would be an asset.
  • Strong facilitator and problem-solver with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people internally and externally.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic changing environment.
  • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong team player.
  • Proven track record of good attendance and job performance.
